2009 is set to be a wonderful year for the Prague Christmas markets. Known locally as Vanocni trh, Prague’s Xmas markets are a cornerstone of the Czech festive season. A variety of festive markets run through the city during the holiday season. Prague’s main markets are at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square, with smaller ones at Namesti Republiky & Havelske Trziste

Occurring this year from 28th November 2009 – 1st January 2010, the market is features brightly decorated wooden huts, selling Czech handicrafts, hot food (including sausages and local specialties) and warm drinks like svarene vino (warm wine)  - everything you need to make this a memorable festive season.
